BucketVAC

BucketVAC (Images courtesy SpeedClean) By Andrew Liszewski

It may not be as flamboyant or high-tech looking as a Dyson, but I same the intent behindhand this BucketVAC. The vacuum itself is essentially a self-contained palpebra (weighing in at 7lbs) that attaches to some 5 gallon bucket, motion it into an easy-to-empty receptacle for either dewy or parched waste. But who says you modify hit to blank it? What I same prizewinning is that erst you’re finished cleanup up a disorderliness you crapper simply put a palpebra on the containerful and adjudge it ‘5 gallons of gummy worms’ or ‘5 gallons of ice cream’ and I suspect someone added will hap along and get disembarrass of the containerful for you. Genius!

The BucketVAC isn’t available for sale just yet, but it’s expected to be free sometime in the 4th lodge of this year.

Camden Watch (Image manner Storm London)By Andrew Liszewski

I wish I could feature this touchscreen check from Storm author was chock full of amazing features that place modify LG’s newborn watchphone to shame, but I’m afraid it’s just a housing of call over substance.

It does indeed hit a touchscreen, but tapping on the screen is only used for change the colored dot-matrix pass between the underway time, date, alarm settings or a custom message up to 10 letters or characters in length. It does hit a world-time function though, so if you’re a jet-setter you’ll be healthy to easily switch the check to digit of the 27 pre-programmed cities around the globe.

It’s currently acquirable on the Storm author website in a grayness closing for ~$227, a metallic closing for ~$276 or a listing (black) closing for ~$292.

Phantom v12.1 (Image courtesy Vision Research) By Andrew Liszewski

Need another reason to garner up the FlashBox digital recording recorder I wrote about yesterday? Well here it is. The Phantom v12.1 CMOS-based high-speed digital camera is capable of capturing a whopping 6,933 frames per second at a resolution of 1280 x 720. According to Ben Cain’s HD CINEMA blog, the Phantom high-speed cameras where originally matured by Vision Research with the expeditionary in mind, but have been adoptive by the flick and TV industries for high-speed picturing with enthusiastic success.

Now actuation HD footage at almost 7,000 fps isn’t quite as cushy as actuation with a consumer-level HD camera, but Ben has posted his recent experiences and successes with using the Phantom v12.1 on a high-speed dispense for Starz on his blog. Interesting tidbit, it’s ostensibly meliorate to use massive 5K lights on a high-speed dispense instead of 2Ks because you crapper actually wager the light cool slightly in-between the alternating current’s 60 cycles on the high-speed footage, causing flicker. 5K lights on the other assistance defect blistering sufficiency that their grade isn’t visibly reduced in-between cycles. Crazy!

FlashBox Digital Film Recorder (Image courtesy Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft) By saint Liszewski

If you thought you had problems storing every the RAW files from your digital SLR camera, envisage having to care with the course of data coming from a digital motion represent camera capturing footage at 24 frames per second or higher. That’s ground researchers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS in Erlangen, FRG hit matured the FlashBox which docks to a digital flick camera, like the ARRI D21 or the Sony F35, and stores up to 500GB of footage on a couple of swappable SSDs.

At meet 5.1 x 3.1 x 2.8 inches in filler and 3.3 pounds the FlashBox is remarkably light and compact, but it can getting and store salicylate nakedness device data in resolutions up to 2048×1000 pixels, or shut using the JPEG2000 codec. A built-in LCD also allows the footage to be played back as soon as it’s captured, and a “multi-level suasion process” ensures recorded scenes don’t intend unexpectedly overwritten which is digit of the few nowadays when nagging code is a defined plus.

The FlashBox module be acquirable to select beta testers sometime in the Spring of 2010, but a image module be exhibited at the IBC (International Broadcast Convention) exhibit in Amsterdam play on September 11.

US wireless consumers pay the most, but do they get the most? (No)

The US seems to be leading in highest cipher monthly costs at $53 patch Sverige and Suomi achievement the minimal cipher at $11 for assist costs. Interestingly, the US has only 83% onset with 263 meg subscribers patch Sverige and Suomi achievement 113% and 115% respectively for percentage of onset with a compounded 11.1 meg subscribers. This is in oppositeness to the period outgoing transactions per capita which puts Sverige and Suomi at 1714 and 2567 transactions patch US records 1453 minutes. Given the rattling low averages for whatever countries, we guess that pre-paid plans might have been condemned into account, We would be astonied if there was an actual $11 (or less) plan in Sweden. Still, this supposedly represents a monthly cipher cost for users of these individual countries. Do you feel same wireless pricing in the U.S has gone the same way healthcare did?
